Dr. Tooke has been engaged in private orthopaedic practice in Los Angeles for the past ten years. He previously served on the faculties of the Johns Hopkins and UCLA Schools of Medicine. His practice is restricted to the treatment of adult spinal disorders including complex deformities, spinal column tumors, failed surgery and degenerative and traumatic problems.
Most recently Dr. Tooke has served as the Chief of Staff at the Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital and as President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Western Orthopaedic Association. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of the Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Tooke received his M.D. from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada where he also completed his orthopaedic residency. His fellowship training in spinal surgery was with Dr. John Kostuik at Toronto General Hospital. He also did fellowship training in hip replacement surgery with Dr. Harlan Amstutz at UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Tooke currently resides in Greensboro with his wife and three daughters and we are very pleased to have this distinguished physician associated with our practice.
