Personal Note:

Practicing orthopaedic surgery for over 25 years has not only shaped my technical skills, but has also made me acutely aware that the art of medicine is much bigger than simply doing surgery. For me, it is a privilege to be able to care for people and earn the trust they have given me with the awesome responsibility it entails. This means listening to the patients and their families. It means that medical treatment should fix not only the specific medical problem but also address the emotional needs of patients.
